JOHANNES SCHWARZ, is a member in the Ensemble Modern Frankfurt since 2003. Guest of the orchestras in Essen, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, WDR Cologne, WDR Big Band, hr-radio-orchestra Frankfurt and many others. In 1995 successful participation at the "Deutscher Musikwettbewerb" in Bonn and acceptance into "Bundesauswahl junger Künstler". Between 1990 and 2002: Foundation of several wind ensembles (Trio d'anches Köln, Kölner Bläseroktett, Tre Venti, Duettissimo, Ensemble MODI) and organization of tours through europe and to Brasilia, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Taiwan etc.
Since the beginning of his studies intensive exchange with composers, several premieres as soloist, guest of festivals for contemporary music in Darmstadt, Donaueschingen, international
double-reed-congresses n Buenos Aires, Amsterdam as well as of several ensembles for contemporary music.
Co-founder of the record label "echolabel" with own record productions in 1999. His last CD "PIU" featuring premieres for solo bassoon was produced in cooperation with HR and Ensemble Modern and was published in 2009, the next CD is still in work: "soundspaces" (2013).
Since 1998 teacher for bassoon and chambermusic in Cologne and Essen, since 2004 for the "international ensemble modern academy" in Frankfurt.
For several times a year, he is invited for workshops of New Music and bassoon performance-techniques by various european colleges of music. For the Ensemble Modern and in cooperation with the "Klangspuren Festival" in Innsbruck he is yearly organizing the masterclass for modern chambermusic since 2009, together with international artists like George Benjamin, Heinz Holliger, Johannes Staud, Martin Matalon, Unsuk Chin and Hans Zender.
For the ensemble modern he organizes since 2013 the main education-projects like the international Ensemble modern Academy (IEMA, with master-degree) and all masterclasses like "epoche F"
In 2010 he started several solo projects with first performings: "soundspaces" for bassoon/saxophone/electronics together with Sascha Armbruster (Basel) and the composers G. Berger, A. Zimmerlin, S. Rohloff, S. Dragicevic, Orm Finnendahl and J. Schöllhorn (actual informations at: www.soundspace-home.de)and a duet-program with the bassoon player Malte Refarth (Hannover).
At the moment, alongside his musical work with the Ensemble Modern, he is working on the most comprehensive audio-sound-archive for the bassoon, that has ever been developed. Every single sound of this instrument has been recorded in a digital database, analysed and placed at the disposal of composers and bassoon players alike.
